Description

Laboratory for Food Technology and Biotechnology is a part of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. Our laboratory is equipped for analysis of the quality of food and biotechnology products.

The biotechnology section is equipped with a two liter automatically regulated fermentor (BIOSTAT B, B BRAUN BIOTECH INTERNATIONAL),  and an orbital shaker for carrying out reactions of fermentative production of biologically active compounds and enzymatic reactions (CERTOMAT B BRAUN BIOTECH INTERNATIONAL 100-250 rpm). We have a microbiological laboratory with a sterile environment and a few microbial species, as well as an HPLC (Agilent Technologies 1200 series) and a GC systems (Varian).  We also have a Spectrophotometer (Cary 50 Scan Varian UV/Vis). The food section of the laboratory is also equipped with a vacuum dryer (Vacuterm Heraeus Instruments), a colorimeter (Dr. Lange Spectro-color) and a Texture analyzer (Stable Micro Systems). We also have a Centrifuge (Biofuge, Heraeus Instruments).
